Due to repairs, the entrance to the metro from Karlovo náměstí is closed until August

Prague - Starting today, the entrance to the metro from Karlovo náměstí is closed in the center of Prague due to escalator replacements and other repairs. Passengers must use the vestibule from Palackého náměstí for entry and exit to and from the station of the same name; the underpass under the intersection of Resslova, Ječná, and Karlovo náměstí will be partially retained. Repairs, according to the transport company, will last until approximately August next year.

In addition to the escalators, the Prague transport company plans to replace the lighting in the Karlovo náměstí station. The electrical wiring will also be renovated.

In the first days after the closure of the entrance from Karlovo náměstí, passengers will be assisted by attendants in reflective vests. Due to the repairs, the transport company has also established a bus stop for line 148 on Na Moráni street in front of the intersection with Dittrichova street.

The Karlovo náměstí station on line B of the Prague metro was built in the mid-1980s, is approximately 40 meters underground, and has two vestibules, one for Karlovo náměstí and one for Palackého náměstí.
