Krnov (Bruntál Region) - The former barracks in Krnov in the Bruntál region will be definitively demolished by mid-December at the latest. Currently, more than a hundred garages have already been removed from the plot, which covers approximately 2.5 hectares. After the area is cleared, the city plans to build the infrastructure necessary for the construction of multifunctional buildings, which will include apartments and business spaces, said Dita Círová, the spokeswoman for the city hall, to ČTK. She added that the city received a grant of 5.3 million crowns from the Ministry of Regional Development for the demolition of the garages, which costs seven million crowns. After the infrastructure is built on the site of the former barracks, the city intends to offer the land to developers. "Our predecessors in the last electoral period tried to obtain a grant from the Joint Regional Operational Program and were unsuccessful. However, we have the project prepared, and there is still a valid building permit for both the infrastructure development and the construction of ten multifunctional buildings," said Deputy Mayor Bedřich Marek. He added that the city wants to wait for the announcement of grant titles and will attempt to obtain financial support from the structural funds again in February. Interested parties for the construction material can register either at the technical services or at the city office. The city sells the cobblestones for four and ten crowns each and the panels for 200 and 500 crowns.
