The Vysočina Region has distributed funds from the Norwegian funds for the restoration of monuments

Jihlava - The representatives of Vysočina today distributed over 19 million crowns among six successful applicants for the restoration of monuments. The money was obtained by the region from the so-called Norwegian funds. A total of 19 applicants sought grants in the Cultural Heritage of Vysočina program, needing nearly 51 million crowns for their projects. The projects will take place between 2007 and 2010. Maximum support can reach up to 85 percent of eligible costs.
The most successful applicant is the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, which will receive 5.3 million crowns for the reconstruction of the unique roof structure and a new roof for the Baroque castle in Myslibořice in the Třebíč area. Within the premises of the monument, there is a home for the elderly and accommodation for the family members of clients. Delaying repairs could threaten the operation of the home.
Almost five million crowns were obtained by the Roman Catholic parish in Žirovnice in the Pelhřimov area for the restoration of the church of Saint Philip and Jacob. Funds are needed for the repair of the roof structure and a new roof, but also for plumbing elements, stained glass, facades, and the conservation of stone pieces.
Another money from the Norwegian funds, specifically 3.7 million crowns, will go to the first phase of the repair of the town hall in Telč in the Jihlava district. Originally Gothic, Renaissance-reconstructed building is one of the dominant features of the Zachariáš of Hradec square. It is necessary to provide static support for the gables of the house, replace windows, and repair the southern facade.
The Premonstratensian Canonry in Nová Říše in the Jihlava district can begin the reconstruction of the towers of the St. Peter and Paul Church and has obtained 3.2 million crowns for it. This will pay for new cladding.
For the drainage of the Church of St. James the Greater in Černovice in the Pelhřimov area and for floor repairs, 1.2 million crowns will come from the funds. It is a remnant of an old Romanesque rotunda from before 1300, which took on its current form in the 16th century.
The town hall in Pelhřimov will then receive 917,595 crowns for the restoration of the Baroque altar of Saint Florian in the Church of St. Vitus.
