Kotík's new headquarters for Nestlé Czech Republic completed

Prague - The real estate group Sekyra Group invested approximately half a billion crowns in the industrial area of Prague-Modřany for the construction of a new headquarters for the food company Nestlé, which manages its activities in the Czech and Slovak markets from there. Sekyra Group has long-term leased the administrative buildings of Nestlé. In the coming years, Sekyra Group plans to invest another 1.5 billion crowns in the construction of up to 250 new apartments and also office space in the Modřany area.
    The Executive Director for the development area of Sekyra Group, Leoš Anderle, told reporters today that the building for Nestlé, which has five above-ground and two underground floors, was designed by architect Martin Kotík. The general contractor for the construction was Metrostav. The usable area of the administrative building is approximately 15,000 square meters, and 350 employees will work there.
    Nestlé has already moved its headquarters to the new administrative building. "The Sekyra Group has met all demanding requirements and created a truly modern working environment for our employees, allowing for more flexible communication,” said Peter Svensson, General Director of Nestlé Czech Republic.
    A large part of the Orion plant remains unused after Nestlé moved production to Olomouc in 2003. Afterwards, the company announced a competition for land and the construction of its headquarters, which was won by the Sekyra Group. After the administrative building, up to 250 new apartments should be built in the area, and Sekyra Group is also considering additional administrative buildings. The entire area in Modřany is expected to be completed around 2010. According to Anderle, these investments will amount to around 1.5 billion crowns.
    The Sekyra Group plans to invest more than 30 billion crowns in the construction of new administrative centers by 2010. The company currently manages commercial properties with a total floor area of around 500,000 square meters and annually offers about 1,000 new residential units. Among the largest projects that the Sekyra Group is currently implementing is the administrative complex Opatov Centrum. Its completion is planned for next year.
    Sekyra Group has been active in the real estate market since 1996, primarily in the area of commercial and residential projects. It is also active in foreign real estate markets, especially in Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Croatia, Romania, and Serbia.
    The food company Nestlé Czech Republic, which has plants in Olomouc and Holešov, increased its net profit last year by approximately 30 million to 318.2 million crowns year-on-year. Revenues fell by about half a billion compared to 2004 to 8.1 billion crowns.
