Broumov (Náchodsko) - Churches in Broumov will come alive this summer with ten concerts of classical music, which will be part of the festival "For the Treasures of Broumov." The third edition of the festival will begin on July 5 with a concert in the Broumov monastery church, and the final concert of the festival will take place on September 6 in the church in Ruprechtice, the festival organizers informed ČTK.
The festival will feature, for example, the Schola Gregoriana Pragensis, violinist Pavel Šporcl, and other artists; music will be heard not only in the Broumov church but also in nine other villages in the Broumov region. More information about the festival program and individual concerts can be found on the website www.broumovsko.cz. Entrance to the performances will be free.
In addition to popularizing classical music, the festival organizers want to provide space for young artists and also draw attention to the state of baroque churches in Broumov. "This year we dedicate six concerts exclusively to young artists who have confirmed their qualities by winning awards at select international competitions," the organizers stated. Last year's edition of the festival, which offered nine concerts, was attended by approximately three thousand visitors.
