Inspection found faults at half of the window and door manufacturers

Prague - The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found various defects in half of the inspected manufacturers and sellers of windows and external entrance doors. According to the CTIA, building products lacked the required labeling.
    CTIA spokesperson Tomáš Vozáb told ČTK today that inspectors conducted a total of 43 inspections from April to June at 37 manufacturers and six distributors of windows and external entrance doors. They identified deficiencies in 22 cases.
    According to Vozáb, companies did not, for example, carry out conformity assessments of their products in the prescribed manner or did not obtain the required European CE conformity mark for their windows and doors.
    CTIA has already initiated ten administrative proceedings with manufacturers and distributors of windows and doors. In four cases, inspectors imposed on-the-spot fines totaling 17,000 crowns.
    "Given the high percentage of deficiencies found by inspectors during their checks, the inspection actions will continue," stated the chief director of the CTIA, Jana Příhodová.
