Prague – Central Group today signed a contract with the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA) regarding the support of the Czech Architecture Award. The largest domestic residential builder will thus be the general partner of this year's edition of this very prestigious competition, aimed at promoting quality results of work by both established and emerging architects to the public.
"Our company has been operating in the market for a quarter of a century and collaborates on selected projects with the best architects both locally and internationally. Quality architecture is what elevates a building above the average, providing it with significant added value. This is why we have placed great emphasis on quality in architecture, especially in recent years," said Central Group's CEO Dušan Kunovský. "With our new general partner, Central Group, we agree that quality Czech architecture needs to be regularly presented to the public. This is the only way to cultivate the environment we live in and to improve the position and respect of the architect profession in the eyes of the public," said Ivan Plicka, chairman of ČKA, regarding the newly established partnership with Central Group.
Central Group always selects its project designs from architectural competitions. It has its own team of 60 experienced architects and designers. Even for regular residential buildings or projects that are not outsourced, it always selects at least five high-quality, well-developed designs from internal architectural competitions. Architects for significant projects and large development areas are also typically chosen through competitions. For example, Josef Pleskot won with his project in a competition for a building on the brownfield site at Kavčí hory.
"Supporting the Czech Chamber of Architects and its efforts to promote quality domestic architecture is another logical step in our corporate social responsibility activities," explained Kunovský. According to him, the company will not only provide financial support but will also announce a special Central Group award within the competition. "As an investor with many years of practical experience, we are very aware of how important it is to balance unique architecture with economic functionality and practicality of the design. Therefore, we want to support primarily those projects that have the best ratio between the exceptional nature of applied architecture and the efficiency of the chosen solution," Kunovský explained.
