The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague elected Dalibor Hlaváček as Dean on November 5, 2025. After his appointment by the rector, he will begin his first term in February 2026. All fifteen members of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University voted for him.

"I perceive the election results as recognition of the work of the entire faculty leadership and all those involved in its development. At the same time, it is a commitment for me to continue the work that has begun and to further strengthen the quality and openness of our school," stated Dalibor Hlaváček after his election.

As the largest school of architecture in the country, the FA CTU has expanded its focus in recent years beyond traditional teaching of architecture and urbanism to include landscape architecture, design, planning, and development. "This diversification reflects the complexity of the modern world and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to creating environments," added Hlaváček.

He aims to continue developing the faculty as a creative and respected academic institution. "I strive for a school that responds to social changes, offers top-notch education, research, and artistic activities, and supports creative freedom and collaboration across disciplines," he stated.

In the upcoming four-year term, he plans to complete the revision of study programs, expand teaching in English, and open new opportunities for international mobility. The faculty will also strengthen connections with practice and interdisciplinary cooperation, creating a platform for joint projects with cities, institutions, and companies.

Another priority will be the modernization of the faculty's facilities for creative activities. The faculty is also preparing an online library that will provide open access to results emerging from the faculty. It also plans to start publishing a peer-reviewed journal that will publish original research results in architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism, and spatial planning, including artistic research.

Dalibor Hlaváček is a licensed architect and a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he was also appointed an associate professor. He completed an internship at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Genoa, Italy, and has been running his own architectural studio, dh architekti, since 2008. Notable projects of the studio include the reconstruction of the functionalist villa Indian Ship or the railway stations Prague-Veleslavín and Prague-Václav Havel Airport. He has been continuously active at the faculty since his studies. He led a team of CTU students, which succeeded in the international university competition Solar Decathlon with the solar house AIR House. He was a long-time member of the board of directors of the European Association for Architectural Education, which focuses on the development of architectural education in Europe. At FA CTU, he leads a studio, is the guarantor of the Architecture and Urbanism study program, and has been the dean since 2022. He has long supported charitable and educational projects in Africa.
