Lucie Králová's documentary examines the conflicts of uniqueness and convention among the inhabitants of houses, their architects, and the surroundings.
Brno - Czech Television will start broadcasting a new cycle of authorial documentaries proStory/made in Czech about new and exceptional buildings of contemporary Czech architecture from next week. A total of 16 documentaries have been worked on by various creators, including documentarians Vít Klusák, Lucie Králová, and Karel Žalud. The program was produced by the Brno studio of Czech Television and will begin airing on September 10 in the evenings on ČT2. This was reported by the studio spokesperson Hana Orošová.
According to her, the project author Lucie Králová chose exceptional Czech buildings from 1993 to 2011, which have attracted attention both in the Czech Republic and abroad. "Some of them still provoke controversial reactions,” Orošová noted. According to her, these are not only residential buildings but also include a swimming pool, a barn, a lookout tower, and even a printing house.
The cycle will feature, for example, the new Faculty of Architecture in Prague, modern swimming pools in Brno and Litomyšl, or private villas in rural areas and satellite suburbs designed by the studio HŠH. The documentaries will showcase interesting personalities among architects - Martin Rajniš, Josef Pleskot, or Alena Šrámková, as well as investors and users of the buildings. The program will be broadcast every Saturday until the end of the year.
