Cheb will begin processing a new territorial plan for the city and its surroundings

Cheb - The Cheb Town Hall will begin processing a new territorial plan. The basic document for the city's development should include all 14 cadastral districts that fall under Cheb, said deputy mayor Miroslav Plevný to reporters today.
    "The need to update the territorial plan arises from the new building law. If we did not do this, we would be completely unable to regulate construction in the city and its surroundings in a few years,” Plevný stated. The Town Hall wants to create a new territorial plan not only for the city’s cadastre but also for the surrounding cadastres.
    The preparation of documents and the consultation process for the new territorial plan will take about two years according to the schedule. The final approval of the new territorial plan is expected in June 2010. The total costs for the creation of the territorial plan are expected to reach about 3.5 million crowns. This year’s budget for Cheb allocates two million crowns for this purpose.
    However, the processing of the territorial plan will also bring certain restrictions. If the proposal is approved by the town council at the end of January, all requests for changes to the territorial plans of the urban units of Cheb and the recreational areas of Jesenice and Skalka will be suspended from March 7, except for those that fall under public interest.
    "It is not possible to interfere with the territorial plan during its processing. Until the new territorial plan is approved, only requests that arrive by that date will be processed,” Plevný added.
