České Budějovice - České Budějovice want to repair part of Jiráskov embankment, which was damaged by floods four years ago. The reconstruction of the sewage system and surfaces in the section from Husova Street to the sports facilities should not cost more than 15 million crowns, said Deputy Mayor Juraj Thoma to reporters today.

"The subject of the adjustment is the overall reconstruction of the surface of this communication, because after the floods it was only repaired locally and, of course, it is very noticeably evident on that communication," Thoma stated.
The city has now announced a call for tenders for the repair. The price will decide 60 percent of the winner, while the completion deadline will weigh 40 percent in the selection of the contractor. "The contractor will be fined 75,000 crowns for each day of delay in the work," Thoma added.
České Budějovice has been repairing Lannova Street since the beginning of March, which is the second busiest street in the city center. By mid-June, the first part should be transformed into a modern pedestrian zone, where pedestrians will have more space than before, and a bike path will also run through it. The city will pay 29 million crowns for the reconstruction.
