Brno - An exhibition of about 100 photographs of the castle and other landmarks in Slavkov u Brna is installed today in one of the trams of the Brno public transport company. The people of Slavkov hope that through this unusual presentation, they will attract more visitors to the town and its Historical Museum.

"The tram accommodates the most passengers and can fit them in best. We hope that the exhibition will receive a proper response and perhaps help with attendance in the autumn, which tends to be weaker at the castles," said Petr Lukas from the Historical Museum, which is based in the castle, to ČTK today. The tram will traverse the streets of Brno until August 25 and then from October until the end of the year, mostly on line number 1 from Bystrc to Řečkovice.
The photographs primarily showcase the baroque castle and its sixteen-hectare park. According to Lukas, the museum wanted to also highlight new tour routes in the two-level basement, where an ancient castle bakery and torture chamber can be seen.
The first exhibition in the Brno tram, which the Brno Transport Company has renamed to gallery car, was a collection of works by young architects in the spring of this year . "We expect that the gallery tram will be an ongoing project. One exhibition ends, and another will follow shortly. We are open to various young artists as well," said Hana Pohanová, the company's spokesperson, to ČTK. According to her, the goal of the project is to bring beautiful things and interesting places closer to people who would otherwise not find their way to an exhibition or a gallery.
