Prague – The development company Amádeus Real has completed the reconstruction of the so-called triplex in Dlouhá Street near Prague's Old Town Square for 350 million crowns. The historical building has been restored to its original name, Palác Bristol. The work lasted nearly three years and, according to the company, corrected mistakes from repairs done during socialism. The company Amádeus Real announced this in a press release today.

Today, the original building, constructed at the end of the 19th century according to architect Miroslav Stöhr's design as a hotel, features commercial spaces on the lower floors and offices and apartments on the upper floors. The basement houses garages with 15 parking spaces.

Martin Klán, a member of the board of directors of Amádeus Real and the main project manager, stated that the triplex of Palác Bristol has been approved for use. "Overall, it offers 31 rental apartments of a short-term nature, for which we are seeing high demand. From the commercial spaces on the ground floor and basement, there is, for example, a wine bar, café, or bistro available. We are currently negotiating with another tenant," he said.

According to him, the complexity of the modernization lay in the sensitive restoration of original historical elements. "All modifications, including for example the replacement of original casement windows with faithful replicas, were consulted with conservationists, who oversaw the project to ensure that the historical value of the building was not compromised,” Klán added.

In the late 1930s, the hotel was connected to the neighboring apartment building, and the entire complex was functionally modified for joint use. After the war, the use of the buildings changed, and after 1989, underground hall garages were built, and the interiors were adapted to the needs of the then-tenants.

The development company Amádeus Real concentrates its business activities mostly in Prague, except for Plzeň, where it is preparing the construction of a new district in the AMESIDE project, and Ústí nad Labem. The company previously operated mainly shopping centers that it owned in major city centers. In Prague, it is currently preparing the reconstruction of the Máj department store, among other projects. The company is owned by the Klán family. It was founded in the 1990s by Václav Klán Sr.
