Theme: INSPIRATION FROM ZNOJMO, JAPAN, SWITZERLAND, SLOVAKIA, AND BEYOND
Regarding the spirit of the place and its preservation, it is primarily necessary to decipher it, to find what it consists of; it need not be an obstacle to contemporary approaches. Did Plečník disrupt the spirit of the place at Prague Castle, or did he develop it? In short, it requires experience, attention, and also subtlety and patience. The spirit of the place is the complexity of very diverse realities that are not just of a material nature.

The Platform of City Architects z.s., in cooperation with the city of Znojmo, cordially invites you to the conference titled Inspiration from Znojmo, Japan, Switzerland, Slovakia, and beyond. The 8th conference of the Platform of City Architects will take place on 02.10.2019 in the premises of Znojmo Castle. Different scales of perception of the city, interdisciplinary themes, distant places – the diverse presentations of speakers connect under a common theme - INSPIRATION. The conclusion of the conference is dedicated to a commented city tour accompanied by city architect Ing.arch. Iveta Ludvíková.

The Conference of the Platform of City Architects has been conceived from the very beginning as an interdisciplinary open forum, intended not only for city architects, politicians, and officials but also for the wider public interested in issues related to the city, public space, the quality of the built environment, and life in settlements.
