Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev unveiled a model of a 150-meter-tall translucent tent that houses an entertainment center. The author of this bold structure is London architect Lord Norman Foster. In a totalitarian country where winter temperatures drop thirty degrees below zero, people will be able to swim at an artificial beach or play tennis year-round under the open sky. Beneath the beach, on an area larger than ten football fields, there will be squares and paved streets of the shopping center and a golf course. Foster recently completed the Pyramid of Peace and Harmony in Astana, which quickly grew behind President Nursultan Nazarbayev's own palace. Could Astana be becoming a new Brasilia? Link>
