Interview with Jean Nouvel

Over the weekend I read an interview with Jean Nouvel, which was published in a special issue of the magazine a+u (April '06). In addition to the classic questions about how he manages a studio of over a hundred people, how he feels in the highest architectural league, and what he says about the criticism of dreamlike visualizations made for him by Eric Anton, he also touched on literature and poetry through Nouvel's favorite cinematic theme. The entire interview ends with a question about how he would like to die. The Asian mentality never ceases to amaze me.
This morning I found one of the most recent interviews that Jean Nouvel gave on April 16, 2007, in Milan. The website designboom.com consistently prepares the same set of questions, which they ask interesting personalities in the field of design, art, or architecture. The endings of the interviews vary slightly. In Nouvel's case, they ask why he decided not to teach at schools. The written interview is supplemented by two short videos in English. Link>
