<translation>Marine Research Center in Trondheim by Snøhetta</translation>

On Monday, February 8, 2010, the architectural firm Snøhetta presented a study for a marine research center in the fjord near the Norwegian city of Trondheim. This ambitious project is to be funded by the Norwegian government along with several national enterprises. Partially, the underwater project “Ocean Space Center“ is to be constructed off the shores of the island Munkholmen. The circular building, covering an area of 16,200 m², is intersected by two additional rings of breakwaters. In addition to the research station, the project, which has estimated financial costs of approximately one billion euros, will include an administrative building and a visitor center located in Trondheim, with this building also based on a similar circular geometry.
