The Berlin branch of minimalists David Chipperfield won on January 25, 2007, in the competition for a new cultural and congress center for Würth in Künzelsau-Gaisbach. The chairman of the jury, which selected from a total of 13 submitted designs, was Munich architect Stephan Braunfels. The jury described Chipperfield's project as “beneficially elegant, calm, and dignified. Despite its noticeable values, it corresponds with the workshop area on the horizon. The indoor and outdoor spaces are of the highest quality and timeless.”
In 2006, Würth organized an invited competition for a cultural center that will include a hall for various social events, a chamber and concert hall, as well as a congress center and seminar space. Additionally, a museum, library, and a garden with sculptures are planned. The center will not only serve the Würth company but also the needs of the city. Link>
