Karl Lagerfeld will design interiors for houses on the island near Dubai

Paris - Designer Karl Lagerfeld and the investment company Dubai Infinity Holdings (DIH) have teamed up to create "the world's first fashion island, Isla Moda" off the coast of Dubai. This was announced in a statement by DIH, as reported by the AFP agency.
Karl Lagerfeld is to design the interior of eighty villas on this island, which is part of the gigantic project The World, which will create 300 artificial islands along the Dubai coastline. Lagerfeld's representatives confirmed this collaboration and specified that the villas are to be built by 2011.
The creation of Isla Moda will be contributed to by four other "great designers", DIH added without further details.
