Yesterday on the third floor of New York's MoMA, an exhibition titled Artist’s Choice: Herzog & de Meuron, Perception Restrained began. The principle of this exhibition is that an invited artist selects and organizes works from the permanent collections of MoMA. This event has been held for the eighth time since 1989, but for the first time, architects have been invited. H&deM have unique experience in building museums of all sizes, and they are also familiar with curating exhibitions. Four rooms are thematically divided according to the type of exhibited objects (paintings, sculptures, photographs, and design). The fifth room is dedicated to film. In the black-painted room, there are five rows of benches made of natural wood, circular mirrors, and fifteen ceiling-mounted television screens, playing excerpts from films such as Fargo, Apocalypse Now, Flesh, Trash, or Heat. You can read about H&deM's further selection for the New York exhibition - here.
