The documentation of architecture is one of the most specific and technically challenging fields of contemporary photography, requiring significant production and creative effort. At the same time, it is a discipline intrinsically linked to the work of architects and the ability to depict and convey the character of their works. For the exhibition "Behind the Camera," we decided to reach out to several Czech and foreign photographers who specialize in this area. Each of them selected a single image of their choice and commented on it with a short story. The exhibition thus offers a glimpse into top contemporary architectural photography through specific images while also revealing the creative ambitions and specific interests of the individual authors. The essence of the field was also specially commented on for the exhibition by architectural historian Pierluigi Serraino from Berkeley, USA, who is a leading expert on this topic and the author of significant publications about legendary photographers such as Julius Shulman, Marvin Rand, and currently, Ezra Stoller.
