The exhibition, which has its Czech premiere in Ostrava and has so far been viewed by 5,539 visitors, will be transported to Spain after its conclusion and will be exhibited in Málaga (Universidad de Málaga), which is a candidate for the European Capital of Culture in 2016, and subsequently in Granada.

The exhibition is extended until 13. 7. 2010

The exhibition presents fourteen projects by young architects from Germany, created since 2004, mainly abroad. Selected examples from the fields of building construction, urban planning, and landscape architecture illustrate the full range of capabilities of this explicitly young generation of architects. They show how young architects cope with construction in the given conditions of a foreign country, how they deal with local specifics in their own way, refine them, and create new things under extraordinary conditions. Current challenges are addressed sensitively, keeping in mind the future, sustainability, and new technologies. In contrast to the global media interest in spectacularity and celebrity culture, this exhibition presents innovative architectural projects that are presented without unnecessary effects, pragmatically, and in a clear relationship to the place for which they were created.

The exhibition was created by the Institute for Foreign Relations Stuttgart (ifa) in Stuttgart, in collaboration with the Federal Chamber of Architects (BAK) in Berlin and Deutsche Welle DW-TV. In Ostrava, the exhibition is organized by the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO) and SPOK - Society for Ostrava Culture, in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut in Prague.

A Czech catalog has been published for the exhibition.
