The construction company of the Eisler brothers was one of the largest in Brno during the First Republic. Their most famous projects include the Tugendhat Villa (architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, 1930), the Avion Hotel (architect Bohuslav Fuchs, 1928), and the Morava Palace (architect Ernst Wiesner, 1929). In Brno, there are dozens of apartment buildings and villas, most of which are now protected as cultural monuments (e.g., the Stiassny Villa, known as the "government villa").

Brothers Artur, Mořic, Otto, Hugo, and Leo Eisler were born in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem and lived in Brno, but they also had significant ties to Lomnice. They inherited and owned the local Jewish school across from the synagogue until 1961. They spent weekends here, and in the 1930s, they built a painting studio in the attic. Visitors to the Jewish cemetery cannot miss that there is a monument at this site commemorating the victims of their family from the Holocaust period.

Otto Eisler was one of the most prominent architects of the functionalist period. In 1932, he was represented by two buildings in the catalogue of the exhibition The International Style in New York, the most significant showcase of interwar global architecture. At the exhibition prepared by the Eisler Gallery in cooperation with the Lomnice Beautification Society, you will be able to view panels with photographs of buildings, examples of period furniture and lighting fixtures, and learn about the life stories of a family marked by the tragic events of the 20th century, such as World War II, the Holocaust, and the nationalization of companies in 1948. The exhibition is prepared to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Otto Eisler.
