Dominik Saitl - Memorial to the Victims of Communism

The living forest on the slope of the hill transitions into the dead forest of the memorial. It consists of 5,075 stainless steel poles symbolizing the same number of thwarted human lives. The poles are made to resonate by the wind into the whispers of thousands of souls. Paths cross the memorial. Beneath their surface, a visitor center and other related spaces are located in the underground area.
