Cyklus přednášek Days of Oris 17
O víkendu 14. - 15. října 2017 se v chorvatském Záhřebu uskuteční sedmnáctý ročník Dnů časopisu Oris, který do místního koncertního sálu Lisinski pozval přednášet architekty z celého světa. Před více patnácti sty posluchači vystoupí poslední držitelé Pritzkerovy ceny RCR Arquitectes, dánský ateliér Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, slovinští OFIS arhitekti, jihotyrolský Angonese Walter, místní architekt Davor Mateković, belgický ateliér architecten de vylder vinck taillieu, mladá japonská hvězda Go Hasegawa, chorvatský teoretik Vedran Mimica a překvapením večera bude aktuální držitel ocenění Shinkenchiku, kterého vybríral přímo Go Hasegawa.
Přednáškový maraton Dny Orisu 2017 je každoročně největší architektonickou události na Balkánu. Během dvou dnů se ve velkém sále Vatroslav Lisinki vystřídá osm světoznámých jmen. Cena vstupenky je 65 Euro (pro studenty 30 Euro).

We invite you to join us at the 17th Days of Oris architectural symposium in Zagreb, to be held 14 – 15 October 2017 in Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. Days of Oris is an architectural convention organized by Oris House of architecture, created after the initial success of Oris magazine that has been continuously published for the past eighteen years.

RCR Arquitectes (Spain)
RCR Arquitectes is an architectural team founded in 1987 by Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta in the Catalan town Olot. Its founders still live and work there today and their architecture is closely connected with the local context where they have realised many of their projects. Their cooperation with Oris lasts for 15 years and they were the guests of Oris back in 2004 when they spoke at Days of Oris 4. Their poetics, present in their earliest works, has developed continuously and consistently over the years and they have earned numerous recognitions and awards. They are returning to Zagreb as the recipients of the most prestigious world architecture award, the Pritzker prize, which was awarded to them in May this year.
Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects (Denmark)
Architectural office SHL was founded by Morten Schmidt, Bjarne Hammer and John. F. Lassen in 1986. in Aarhus. Their offices are located in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Shanghai and they are famous for their cultural landmark buildings. They attracted international attention by the Katuaq Cultural Centre of Greenland in Nuuk (1997) and some of their most famous works include the extension to the Royal Library in Copenhagen, ARoS Museum of Art in Aarhus and The Crystal office building in Copenhagen. The office has, among others, received the RIBA National Award, A+ Award and the WAF Mixed Use Award.
OFIS arhitekti (Slovenia)
OFIS arhitekti gained international reputation by a continuous research of architectural forms and high diversification of projects. The office was founded in 1996 by Rok Oman and Špela Videčnik and their projects include Izola Social Housing, Bate Borisov football stadium in Belarus, The Cultural Centre of European Space Technologies (KSEVT) in Vitanje and Alpine Shelter in the Slovenian Alps. They have receieved many awards, including the Plečnik award, Archdaily Building of the Year award and they were six times nominated for the Mies van der Rohe award. They are currently teaching at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Angonese Walter Architect (Italy)
Walter Angonese was born in Kaltern in South Tyrol in 1961. He studied architecture in Venice. His projects reflect his innovative and individual approach. He is known for radical reconstructions and interventions into historical buildings, like the conversion of the Tirol Castle into a historical museum and the reconstruction of the Kufstein Fortress. He is also known for the project for the Manincor winery in Kaltern and the residential villa and exhibition area of Casa Dalle Nogare in Bolzano. He received the Italian award for architecture and exhibited at the Triennale de Milano. Since 2007 he teaches at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio.
Davor Mateković (Croatia)
Davor Mateković was born in 1962 in Zagreb. In 1992 he founded the Proarh architectural office, which has realised numerous projects of different scale, type or function. His work greatly influenced the image of contemporary Zagreb and his sensibility to the context is especially emphasized in the projects such as Zagorje cottage Hiža in Kumrovec, Issa Grotto Hill House on the Island of Vis and the Stone house in Lukovo Šugarje, for which Mateković received the 2017 Drago Galić award for residential architecture given by the Croatian Architects’ Association. Mateković also exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture and won the award of the World festival of architecture, where he also participated as a member of the jury.
Go Hasegawa (Japan)
Go Hasegawa is one of the most interesting young Japanese architects. He was born in 1977 in Saitama, Japan. In 2005 he founded Go Hasegawa and Associates. He designed a lot of family houses, for which he won many awards, such as the 2008 Schinkechiku award for House in Sakuradai and the 2014 AR Design Vanguard award. He is currently a visiting professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Vedran Mimica (Croatia)
Vedran Mimica is a professor of architecture and spatial planning at the IIT College of Architecture Chicago. He was born in Zagreb in 1954. On the invitation of Herman Hertzberger, he joined the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam in 1991 and he was the last dean of the Institute from 2007 to 2012. He has taught at numerous schools of architecture, including the Architectural Association, ETH, Sorbonne, Columbia University, MIT, UCLA and the Catholic University of Chile, Santiago. He participated in the publication of several crucial books of contemporary Croatian architecture (Randic&Turato, The Architecture of Transition, Croatian Archipelago New Lighthouses, Contemporary Croatian Architecture: Testing Reality). From 2003 to 2012 he was an independent expert for the Mies van der Rohe Award of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. In 2013, with Wiel Arets, he launched the MCHAP (Mies Crawn Hall Americas Prize) as the American equivalent of the European award. He publishes texts in Croatian and international papers as a critic and architectural curator.
architecten de vylder vinck taillieu (Belgium)
Architectural office architecten de vylder vinck taillieu was founded in 2010 by Jan De Vylder, Inge Vinck and Jo Taillieu. They soon became known for their specific architectural language, critical approach and an unconventional reflection of the interventions into the built environment. Their works were presented at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2010, 2012 and 2016, and at the Chicago Biennale of Architecture in 2015. They were nominated for the 2014 Mies van der Rohe award for the project of HeL Production Studio and participated in the famous BUS:STOP Krumbach project in 2014.

The Shinkechiku award is given by an esteemed Japanese architectural magazine a+u to innovative projects. The projects are selected by only one judge and this year the judge is Go Hasegawa!
