We would like to invite you to a joint photographic project by 4AM/Forum for Architecture and Media, FLUSS, Fotoškoly Brno and Fotoschule Wien "WIRELESS/DRAHTLOS". The exhibited photographs reflect the everyday Czech-Austrian reality twenty-five years after the fall of the Iron Curtain. EXHIBITIONS MIKULOV/VALTICE 5 – 30. 9. 2014 A joint photographic project by 4AM/Forum for Architecture and Media, FLUSS, Fotoškoly Brno and Fotoschule Wien The 25 years that have passed since the fall of the communist regime in Eastern Europe have changed the whole world. Perhaps the most transformed was the reality of everyday life for those of us who lived in Eastern Europe, and secondly, the new situation significantly affected our closest neighbors. The removal of wires and all sophisticated barriers and traps from the border line was the first visible act that made the borders transparent, and the Czech Republic's entry into the European Union later completely erased it. What does the change brought about by the fall of the Iron Curtain look like? Where can we find it and what form does it take? Are we really closer to each other? The project WIRELESS/DRAHTLOS will seek answers to these and similar questions. WIRELESS is the name from which each photographer involved in the project will derive a photographic series on the theme "25 years without the Iron Curtain." The project is not limited either genre-wise or territorially; the decisive criteria will be the originality and distinctive visual interpretation of the chosen theme that captures the stage of the past quarter-century. Evžen Sobek & Markus Hippmann, authors of the project concept and curators of the exhibition The project is being created with the support of the Regional Development Agency of South Moravia.
