6th Annual One-Round Non-Anonymized Competition Showcase
“New Home of the Year 2007”

The competition showcase “New Home of the Year 2007” is being announced for the sixth year this year and as such it is becoming a prestigious event in the competition of completed and realized buildings for residential purposes, both among project authors and investors or private property owners.
The showcase of completed residential buildings finished in 2006 to 2007 was announced by the Ministry of Regional Development in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Architects.
A total of 40 competition proposals were submitted for this year's edition.

Awards for the competition showcase “New Home of the Year 2007” were given in four announced categories:
new construction of a family house (19 competition proposals)
new construction of an apartment building (13 competition proposals)
renovation of an apartment building or other building for residential use (8 competition proposals)
construction of apartments in special purpose buildings (none awarded, as no entries were submitted)

The evaluation criteria without hierarchical differentiation were as follows:
level of architectural solution of the building
structural solution
location of the building in the given environment
land usage, parking, garages
execution of the building
economic and energy demands of the building

A jury composed of leading experts who have long been engaged in residential construction evaluated all submitted documents non-anonymously. Selected buildings were personally inspected and assessed on-site by the expert jury. It could not happen that primarily quality photographs were awarded instead of a quality building.

Composition of the jury:
Doc. Ing. arch. Radek Kolařík (chairman of the jury, member of ČKA)
Ing. arch. Daniela Grabmüllerová, MBA (director of the housing policy department, MMR)
Ing. Pavel Rakouš (minister’s advisor, MMR)
