Announcement of the competitive showcase for the "Mayor of Prague 6 Award"

The most recently awarded structure was the extension of the gymnasium of Gymnázium Jana Keplera in 2011 (SPORADICAL, 2009).

Prague - The Council of the Prague 6 district announces the third year of the "Mayor's Award of the Prague 6 District - 2012". The aim of this architectural competition is to find and reward the investor who, through the construction or reconstruction of a building between 2010-2012, has most significantly contributed to the improvement of the environment in the Prague 6 area. Previous years have attracted great attention. Nominations for the competition can be submitted by anyone.
     "The purpose of awarding the 'Mayor's Award' for the realization of a building is to identify and evaluate the highest quality new construction or reconstruction of an existing building, presenting the architectural culture of Prague 6, thereby supporting public and investor interest in creating buildings that meet the most stringent aesthetic and technical criteria of today," explains the mayor of the sixth district, Marie Kousalíková.
     Proposals for the competition can be submitted by citizens and professionals from August 15 to September 9, 2012, to the address of the competition secretary. The written proposal must include the designation of the completed building, the address of the building, information about the author, information about the investor, and a brief description of the reason for the nomination in relation to the purpose of the award. The proposal should include graphic attachments and photographs of the realization. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered. Due to overlapping dates for announcing individual years of the awards, a construction can only be nominated for the award for one year.
     The jury meeting is expected in the second half of September 2012. The award presentation approved by the RMČ Praha 6 will take place as part of a separate exhibition of nominations or as part of the exhibition "Biennale of Development Programs - Prague 6 Changes Face VI." in the Chodník Gallery at nám. Svobody and in the Glass Palace during October 2012. The selected construction realization will be awarded a financial reward, marked with the plaque "Mayor's Award of MČ P6," and published on the district's website, in the newspaper "Šestka," and possibly in other media.
     To evaluate the submitted proposals, the RMČ P6 has appointed a jury consisting of: Prof. Ing. arch. Petr Ulrich, doc. Ing. arch. Jan Mužík, Ing. arch. Zdeněk Lukeš, doc. PhDr. Petr Kratochvíl, CSc., Ing. arch. Jakub Našinec (architectural work awarded in 2011); jury substitute doc. Ing. arch. Lubomír Pata. Jury secretary: Ing. arch.
