In Poland, the Motława Apartments competition is taking place

A competition has been announced in Poland for an urban planning and architectural concept for the development of part of Gdańsk's Old Town by the Motława River. The goal of the organizer is to obtain proposals for prestigious and modern development that would combine residential and commercial functions.

The competition site covers an area of 42,368 m2 and is located in close proximity to the historic buildings of Gdańsk, which could allow for the creation of a development with an extraordinary atmosphere.
The investor of the competition is the development company Invest Komfort S.A., and the competition is held under the auspices of the city of Gdańsk, the Pomeranian Voivodeship, and the Polish Chamber of Architects. The competition is announced as international, and both teams of professionals and students may participate. The winner of the professional category will receive 100,000 EUR (second place 30,000, third 15,000 EUR), and for the student category, 5,000, 3,000, and 1,500 EUR are allocated respectively.
The deadline for free registration for the competition is June 25, 2007, and competition proposals must be submitted by July 9, 2007.
