Student Competition GAU:DI

Twelve European universities that focus on sustainable development in architecture and urbanism are participating in the preparation of the student competition Gau:di. The theme of this year's edition will be Minimal House for Leisure in the 21st Century.

As part of the competition, students must present their views on leisure time in contemporary society in relation to the landscape or urban environment. Then the competitors will propose a house - either a standalone structure or one module of a larger program.
Participants can register until July 31, 2007, and there is a participation fee of 15 EUR. The competition deadline is September 30, 2007. As part of the biennale in Venice in 2008, an exhibition of the best projects will take place, and three of them will even be realized.
The aforementioned 12 European universities (of course, none from the Czech Republic) are creating an extensive digital library containing texts on sustainable development and detailed documentation of two hundred houses related to the theme of this year's competition.
