Subject of the competition:
The subject of the competition is projects of energy-efficient family houses designed from the brick system POROTHERM. Family houses that will provide their users with the best that living in brick family houses can offer. Brick family houses that will be designed in such a way as to allow optimal use, be maximally energy-efficient, and provide maximum comfort and well-being in terms of housing quality. The complete POROTHERM system comprises products or technical solutions listed in the organizer's manual "Basis for Design – Complete Brick System POROTHERM, 10th edition – April 2006". The material can be obtained from the competition organizer or at the competition secretary's office.

The proposed family house projects must meet the following mandatory conditions:
  • the entire construction is to be executed from single-layer masonry in the complete brick system POROTHERM including mortars and plasters (see point 2.2).
  • the building as a whole and its individual structures must comply with the requirements of ČSN 73 0540-2/Z1/2005, the evaluation criterion for the classification of the building's thermal demand is the Degree of Thermal Demand STN, expressed in % (less than 80% - energy-efficient building).
  • the solution for off-street parking must comply with general technical conditions and must comply with Act No. 183/2006 Coll. on Spatial Planning and the Building Code (Building Act) and its implementing regulations:
  • 501 - Regulation on General Requirements for Land Use
  • 502 - Regulation amending Regulation MMR No. 137/98 Coll., on General Technical Requirements for Construction – published in the Collection of Laws on 28.11.2006, part 163.
Conditions of participation in the competition:
Individuals and legal entities, or their associations, can participate in the competition.
