The prestigious Office of the Year competition has concluded its third year. At the festive gala evening at the Žofín Palace, the winners of all 9 categories were announced on January 30, 2019, along with a special award for Environment Friendly. The evening was hosted by the well-known presenter of Czech Television, Daniela Písařovicová. There was also a performance by singer Kateřina Marie Tichá, who gained fame through her work in the band Jelen.

On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, the official announcement of the Office of the Year competition took place. The expert jury announced the winners of all nine categories (financial institutions, law firms, IT offices, media & marketing, consulting, Hub & Co-working, shared services center offices, 21st-century offices, and Employee Friendly), supplemented by a special award in the Environment Friendly category taking into account the long-term sustainability of the spaces and their impact on the environment.

All the companies that reached the finals can boast not only greater attractiveness for their current and potential employees but also a quality office environment associated with high work efficiency. An exceptional interior is also a sign of prestige for the company, which appears even more professional to its clients as a result.

"The large participation in this year's edition has set the bar very high. It was not easy to select the winners of individual categories with the expert jury. However, thanks to clear specifications and fair evaluations, the truly best were recognized," comments Radek Procházka, managing partner of Prochazka & Partners, which has been organizing the Office of the Year competition for three years, and adds: "It is gratifying to observe the growing trend and attention that employers are paying to the interiors of offices. It's important not to take the work environment lightly, as it is one of the factors influencing the quality of work performed. One of the main goals of the Office of the Year competition is to appreciate companies that care about their employees and implement quality office environments in which they feel good."

The criteria used by the expert jury took into account not only the uniqueness, creativity, unusualness, individuality of the spaces, and innovative approaches to their development but especially the satisfaction of employee needs. Additionally, the atmosphere of the environment and the quality of execution were assessed. For all categories, a common focus on the attractiveness of workspaces and the comfort of employees, who spend most of their working day in the office, was shared.

Thanks to the individual winners, it is clear that quality office environments are no longer characteristic solely of IT companies but can be found across various sectors. With the current economic growth, which is associated with the battle for talent, companies must invest in the work environment to retain capable employees and have a chance to attract new talented colleagues. The trend of quality office spaces will only expand across companies."Thanks to the finalists of the competition, we can observe the current situation in the market. Increasing the space for employees, using designer wallpapers, or combining open and closed offices are some of the current trends," says Radek Procházka.
