The portal designboom and the company DePadova have jointly announced a competition with the subtitle living simplicity in furniture design. The aim of the competition is to design chairs, tables, sofas, and office containers that combine simplicity with playfulness, elegance, and fresh contemporary design. As is customary in competitions announced by designboom, truly innovative and imaginative solutions are expected, which can also be seen in the extensive archive of proposals from previous competitions. The three best designs will be awarded €3,000, €2,000, and €1,000, respectively. DePadova does not rule out the serial production of some designs, in which case it guarantees a reward of 3% of the profit. The composition of the jury is also very interesting, with Norman Foster being among them. The deadline for the competition is June 30, 2007.
