The Academy of Architecture was established as an expression of the effort to improve the competitive exhibition of the Grand Prix of Architects 2008 – National Prize for Architecture. As stated in the Academy of Architecture's Statute, the mission of the academy members is to seek out quality and successful architectural works that were completed in the past year and subsequently invite their authors to participate in the GPA. A call for participation in this year's GPA was sent to the authors of a total of 39 works that received the highest number of votes based on the academy members' voting. According to the AA statute, the first 30 works will be invited to participate in the competition; in case of a tie in the number of votes, all works occupying the last position will proceed, resulting in the number being higher by 9. The list of works is arranged alphabetically by authors, thus it is not clear from it which work received the highest number of points. We hope that all the contacted authors will consider the invitation to participate in the GPA exhibition as a sign of appreciation for their work and will apply for the competition. Their work will then be marked throughout the duration of the exhibition with the text: “Implementation invited by the Academy of Architects to participate in the Grand Prix of Architects exhibition – National Prize for Architecture”.
