07 Skyscraper - competition

At the address evolo-arch.com the competition conditions for this year’s international competition 07 Skyscraper are published. This edition is expected to conclude the series of competitions on the theme "skyscraper at the beginning of the 21st century".

What is the historical and social context of these megastructures? What is their relationship to urbanism? Is the modern skyscraper a city in itself? Is it a loss of human scale? These fundamental questions are posed by the organizers to the competitors. The conceptual competition has no restrictions regarding the building program, size, or dimensions.

The best proposal will be awarded 2,000 USD, second place 1,000 USD, and the competitor in third place will receive 500 USD. The registration deadline is January 8, 2007, and the usual participation fee for U.S. competitions applies, in this case, 40 USD (per competitor or team). Proposals must be submitted electronically by January 15, 2007.
