Biography
Erich Schelling was a German architect who played a significant role in the post-war reconstruction of Karlsruhe. He studied under Hermann Billing at the University of Karlsruhe. One of his most notable buildings is the congress hall Schwarzwaldhalle in Karlsruhe, which was completed in 1953 in just six months. The hall is recorded in history for its curved, self-supporting concrete roof and simultaneously brought Schelling international recognition.
