The Institute of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Architecture of CTU in Prague cordially invites all interested parties to a series of four publicly accessible lectures by visiting professor Mirko Baum.
The ability to produce cast iron, iron, and steel industrially has changed the world. The mass production and price availability of these materials meant new forms of labor and a radical transformation of society and its aesthetic and economic-political thinking since the end of the 18th century.
The lectures pay tribute to the constructors of the industrial revolution and explore their influence on the work of civil engineers today. They will be conducted in Czech. Each lecture lasts 90 minutes, followed by a space for discussion.
