Biography
Cornelis Gregorius Dam is a Dutch architect who founded his own firm Dam & Partners in 1962 after studying at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Among his most famous projects is the building of the Amsterdam Opera (1955-86), which he worked on together with the Viennese architect Wilhelm Holzbauer. In 2007, he was appointed a knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion, and in 2009 he received an award from the Dutch foundation Positief.
