The House outside the village

The House outside the village
Outside the village backyard, back to the road but facing the forest, stands an inconspicuous house.
Its location and shape clearly defines the boundary of the outside world and protects the privacy and tranquillity of its people. To the road, it opens only by the gateway and small openings in the brick wall. The building is wrapped around a terrace, opening towards it and protecting it from the surrounding space. The ridge of the building’s gabled roof rises slowly, forming space underneath it - just enough for a low bedroom, subsidiary rooms and an elevated living space with a floating storey.
And this is the whole idea – a simple, modest, yet sufficiently spacious and generous home...
