Ústí nad Labem - The Ústí Region is looking for a company that will convert the pavilion school on Stará Street in Ústí nad Labem into a so-called transformation center for approximately one billion crowns. The spaces of the former high school, after renovation, will provide a place for ensuring data services for the needs of the region, preparing projects for landscape restoration after coal mining is finished, energy services, and innovation. There will also be spaces for workshops on the premises. Governor Richard Brabec (ANO) told reporters today that this is a fundamental construction project for the entire region.

The task of the winner of the public procurement will include not only the repair of some parts of the pavilion complex but also the demolition of selected buildings and the extension between the main buildings. Two original gymnasiums will be transformed into conference halls. The project also includes shared offices for entrepreneurs, workshops, and a café.

"It's truly a complete overhaul of the pavilion school including landscaping around it, but mainly including the equipment," Brabec stated. There are also plans to build a parking lot, including spaces for cars. "It will be an extraordinary construction for the entire Ústí Region," the governor anticipates from this grand investment. The region received a grant of 952 million crowns for the project from the Operational Program for Fair Transformation. "It will be a race against time. The construction will be demanding. There are limits that should not be exceeded," Brabec warned. The company is expected to complete the work by 2027.

The former school will be renovated according to the design by the Prague architectural studio mh architects, which won the international architectural competition. The building will be energy-efficient. The premises are currently in poor condition; they are still used by the police for training and exercises.
