Česká Lípa - Česká Lípa wants to buy the building of the former radio Crystal in the city center, also known as the house "U Tří devítek." The intention was approved today by the Česká Lípa council. The owner is asking 23 million crowns for the house and land. It is an interesting offer that the city should take advantage of, said Deputy Mayor Martin Brož (ANO), who presented the material to the council. The city will continue negotiations regarding the price and terms of the purchase agreement.
"The building has wide potential for future use. There could be offices, accommodations, a children's playroom, or a music club, which the city lacks. We visited the house to get an idea of its condition. We were surprised that it is in relatively good shape. This property is located in the very heart of Česká Lípa, and we want to influence what will be in it in the future. We want to ensure that the building will serve the citizens and will connect with already realized projects or future plans of the city in this part of Česká Lípa," added Mayor Jitka Volfová (ANO).
The property is located on U Synagogy Street in the city center, across the street from the newly opened town hall, which was created by converting the former Česká pojišťovna building. Nearby is a parking lot. The property and adjacent lands are currently owned by the Realita real estate open-ended investment fund - ARTIS investment company, which presented the city council with an expert appraisal from 2016, estimating the market value of the property at 25.1 million crowns.
According to Volfová, the building does not need a significant reconstruction; maintenance will be sufficient in the near future. Česká Lípa has enough money to purchase the property and does not need to go into debt for it. Despite hundreds of millions in investments in the swimming pool, Jiráskov Theatre, Town Hall, or the reconstruction of Kounic House, the city had nearly 1.2 billion crowns in its accounts and funds at the end of last year, including over 236 million in the investment fund and another 200 million crowns in term deposits.
