Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 5:30 PM In the exhibition space of Famous Villas of the Moravian-Silesian Region at the House of Art (Jurečkova 9, 702 00 Ostrava) Jindřich Vybíral studied Czech studies, history, and art history at universities in Ostrava, Brno, and London. He worked at the Faculty of Education in Ostrava (1986-1989) and at the National Gallery in Prague (1989-1997). Since 1996, he has been teaching at the AAAD (Academy of Art, Architecture and Design) in Prague. From 1997 to 2002, he was the vice-rector of AAAD. He has published several studies and books on 19th and 20th-century architecture, including The Birth of a Metropolis (1997, 2003), The Century of Heirs and Founders (1999), Czech Architecture on the Threshold of Modernity (2002), Young Masters (2002, German edition 2007), and Famous Villas of the Moravian-Silesian Region (2008).
