The CO.LABS team lecture is part of the House Europe lecture series, through which we aim to present the direction and efforts of the European civic initiative HouseEurope!
HouseEurope! is an initiative that brings together citizens, institutions, and resident groups in Europe and seeks ways to reasonably and positively promote and prioritize reconstructions over demolitions in today's construction. The initiative aims to prepare effective EU regulations that would facilitate the renovation and transformation of existing buildings while supporting their affordability both financially and socially. Many architectural firms, public and private institutions (including the Czech Chamber of Architects), and thousands of citizens have already joined the initiative. In the lecture series, we would like to introduce the local audience to possible strategies, tools, and topics related to renovations and reconstructions on a local scale based on a selection of six Czech and Slovak speakers.
The project was created with financial support from the State Cultural Fund of the Czech Republic and the Czech Architecture Foundation.
