Lecture by Vendula Hnídková: Le Corbusier in the Jungle

Paris, Marseille, Ronchamp, La Tourette, Pessac, Stuttgart ... We have all that under our skin. But what will the tropical climate do to the protagonist of European modern architecture? Ahmedabad and Chandigarh? How successfully did Le Corbusier's approaches confront Indian cultural tradition? A possible answer will be hinted at by over two hundred current photographs capturing the state of individual buildings 50 years later. In conclusion, there will be a small "confrontation of the confronted" with the monument of the National Assembly in Dhaka by L. I. Kahn.
