Osamu Okamura (born 1973, Tokyo-Japan) is an architect, program director of the international festival and conference for more livable cities reSITE, and lectures at the Architectural Institute in Prague. In 2014, he was selected among the New Europe 100 – one hundred exceptional innovators from Central and Eastern Europe - by Res Publica magazine, Google, and the Visegrad Fund, in collaboration with the Financial Times. He has lectured in the USA, Japan, Thailand, Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. From 2005 to 2012, he served as the editor-in-chief of the magazine ERA21, and since 2013, he has been its expert guarantor. He is the official nominator for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award for the Czech Republic, an expert advisor to the Metropolitan Soundboard of the City of Prague in urban development issues, a member of the Commission for the Development of Urbanism, Architecture, and Public Space of the Municipal Council of Prague 7, and an official certifier of the Registry of Artistic Achievements of Czech Universities in the field of Architecture. He studied at the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, specializing in conceptual creation.
