The Civic Association Kruh has prepared a series of lecture evenings for the first half of 2009, dedicated to the "matadors" of Czech architecture. The project will present prominent figures from the older generation of architects, whose works from the 60s to the 80s are slowly falling into oblivion today. The series will open with a lecture by the prominent Ostrava architect Ivo Klimeš (*1932), who focused mainly on theater projects in his work. In his projects, he collaborated, for example, with designer Radim Ulmann. In his work, Ivo Klimeš moved in the 60s and 70s from sharply cut shapes and crystallinely formed mass to more organic compositions with oval and softly elaborated masses inspired by Scandinavian architecture. His work, increasingly focused on theater projects, made him a leading expert on this subject.
