Prague is selling a plot of land on Národní třída apparently for a record price

    PRAGUE - The city of Prague is selling land on Národní třída in the city center for what appears to be a record price. For plots with an area of 783 square meters, it is expected to receive 183.77 million crowns. The sale to the company Ditrich, which offered the highest price, was approved by the council today. In second place in the selection process was the company Alborg with a bid of 120 million crowns.
    The price per square meter based on Ditrich's offer is 234,700 crowns. "I have no information that the price has ever been higher," said councilor Pavel Klega (ODS). The city previously received a high amount for land for the construction of HypoBank at Republic Square. According to the councilor, it was 140,000 crowns per square meter.
    The land currently being sold is the only available gap on Národní třída. It is currently used as a parking lot. In the price map, the value of these plots is estimated at 22,090 crowns per square meter.
    The Ditrich company plans to build a seven-story multi-purpose building there. The basement is to contain a relaxation facility, the ground floor an entrance hall, a restaurant, and a shop. The building will have hotel rooms on three floors, and apartments on the other three.
