Brno – The council of the Brno-střed borough did not approve the inclusion of the historic Tivoli house on Konečného náměstí in the list of houses intended for sale to tenants. Some media and opposition politicians mentioned that the former Minister of Justice and MP Pavel Blažek (ODS) lives in the house, and his wife has an executor's office there. The council, on the other hand, approved the inclusion in the list of properties intended for sale in Francouzská and Hvězdova streets.

If the borough council had approved the sale of the Tivoli house, the sale would have been decided by the city council. ODS, led by Mayor Vojtěch Mencl, supported the inclusion of the house on the list, along with Brno's Mayor Markéta Vaňková and her deputy Robert Kerndl (both ODS), who are representatives of the borough. The opposition and some coalition representatives were against it.

For example, opposition councilor Gabriel Kurtis (for Žít Brno) stated on social media several days ago that Blažek lives with his wife in Tivoli, where she has an enforcement office. "I didn't look into who has an office there and who lives there, but such valuable houses should remain in city ownership," said opposition councilor Michal Závodský (for the Greens).

The council also did not approve the inclusion for sale today for the corner houses on Konečného náměstí.

Brno owns nearly 30,000 apartments, which is about 15 percent of the total housing stock in Brno. The rest is privately owned. Most city apartments are managed by the boroughs.
