Litomyšl (Svitavy) - Litomyšl is selling 15 plots of land with existing engineering networks for the construction of family homes in the area Na Prokopu. To ensure equal access for all buyers, the city council chose a rather unusual method. The price per square meter was fixed at 840 crowns, applicants submitted requests for specific plots, including several, and if more than one person was interested in a plot, a lottery decided. The first round of opening envelopes and drawing lots with a complicated key took place yesterday. The area of the plots ranges from 466 to 944 m².

"We received a total of 25 applications. Nine of the 15 plots were requested, and a lottery was held for seven of them," said Pavel Chadima, head of the real estate department of the city council. Two applicants received alternative plots.
Sixteen interested parties did not get any plots. The city council should approve the new publication of the remaining parcels on Monday, and unsuccessful applicants can apply again.
"It should be noted that some applications, based on names and addresses, were from the same family, so in my opinion, the actual number of interested parties is lower," added Chadima.
Each buyer must pay a deposit for a contractual penalty of 350 crowns per square meter. This will be refunded if they build and complete a residential building on the plot within four years.
