In Brno, the renovation of the Continental hotel costing over 60 million has begun

Brno - In Brno, the four-star Hotel Continental is undergoing renovations close to the city center. The reconstruction, which will cost more than 60 million crowns, includes the construction of underground garages, a new bar, and an expansion of the conference center. The reconstruction should be completed by early October, hotel director Jaroslav Vacek told ČTK.
    According to him, from autumn, guests will also be able to drive up to the hotel, which they could not do before. Three lounges will be added to the conference area, he added. An improved park is expected to be created around the hotel. Due to the adjustments, workers previously cut down trees, but greenery will return to the hotel surroundings.
    Hotel Continental, which offers accommodation in 230 rooms, was built in 1964 according to the design of architect Zdeněk Řihák.
    Currently, Brno has just under ten four-star hotels that primarily earn from conference and exhibition tourism in the South Moravian metropolis. According to analyst Ondřej Moravanský from the company Cyrrus, Brno is characterized by hosting several one-time events, during which the demand for hotels is high.
